Introduction

Registration

Safety Education

A child under 12 years of age may not operate a vessel powered by a motor or combination of motors over 10 HP, a PWC, or a sail-powered vessel 16 feet or more in length. A child 12 or older but not yet 16 may operate such vessels only under specified conditions. Boater Education Cards must be carried on board and available for inspection. All states recognize boating education cards that meet NASBLA requirements (reciprocity).
